Our local Hudson Valley roots stretch back to 1969
In 1969, teachers from the Wappingers Central school district decided to create an alternative to the banks they had been using. Desiring a financial institution that provided fair and equitable treatment, they successfully chartered the Wappingers Central Federal Credit on April 25, 1969, with the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).
In March 1976, we began offering the benefits of credit union membership to the government workers of Dutchess County. With that expansion, our name changed to Taconic Educational and Governmental Federal Credit Union, or TEG Federal Credit Union as we’re known today.
Over the years, our field of membership has expanded to serve all who live, work, worship, or attend school in New York’s Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester Counties.

At TEGFCU, your best interests have always been our focus. As a better alternative to banks, our mission is simple, to help you get to a better place financially.
Membership is open to anyone (and their immediate families) who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, and Westchester County, NY. A $5 minimum deposit opens the door to all the benefits of being a valued TEGFCU member.
